FreedomPop, which has offered US residents free monthly voice and data plans for smartphones and most recently tablets for a year now, has started selling its own branded devices, beginning with an 7-inch Android tablet for just $89.
The FreedomPop Liberty is a WiFi only tablet that has a 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 processor inside. It also has 512 GB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage, along with an SD card for adding more storage. In November, a 4G LTE version of the tablet, the Frenzy, will be released by FreedomPop for $99. The carrier plans to sell its own $89 LTE Android smartphone in the near future.
