A closer look at the HTC RE camera accessories

In case you missed it, the HTC RE camera was announced today. It's a small handheld camera that can work on its own, or connect to an Android or iOS device. We've played with it a bit, so make sure to check out our hands-on impressions so far. After the announcement, HTC had some of the accessories and mounts on display. We asked an HTC representative to explain what they were. Take a look at our video!

One of the accessories on display was the lanyard with waterproof cap. It turns the RE camera completely waterproof 3 meters for 30 meters. One end screws into the bottom of the RE, while the other end is a cap to cover the lens. It's not clear whether this is sold separately or will be included with the RE.

The RE Suction Mount creates a stable base on any flat surface. You can use this to mount the RE camera on a window, in a car, on a table, or just about anywhere you want to get some cool footage from unique perspectives. This accessory costs $24.99.

The RE Head Mount includes a headband with clip-on for the RE camera. This is useful if you want a hands-free shooting experience. The head mount costs $19.99.

The RE Clip-On is also available separately if you don't need the headband. You can clip it to your shirt pocket, backpack, or just about anywhere you want like bandanas as shown in the video. The Clip-On costs $14.99.

The RE Bar Mount lets you attach the RE camera to your bike, motorcycle, or even a baby stroller as shown in the video. The adjustable clamp fits any handlebar or round tube. It costs $19.99.

The HTC RE camera will launch in the U.S. through Best Buy and HTC's own online store. It'll also be available on AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Amazon.com "in time for the holidays." It will cost you $199. You can check out the accessories at HTC's online store.

Are you interested in the RE camera? Will you be getting it with any of the accessories? Let us know in the comments!
