Following up on its reveal in late August, Samsung has now announced that its upcoming Tizen-based smartwatch, the Gear S, will go on sale later this fall at the top four US wireless carriers. That's Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, in case you are keeping score at home.

T-Mobile also sent over an email saying the Gear S will be available from them via their Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) and that more information about their Gear S will be revealed sometime in October. AT&T also posted a quick note on their website saying that its retail stores will offer "previews" of the smartwatch "soon".

Just a reminder: The Samsung Gear S will have a 2-inch curved AMOLED display, support for 2G and 3G wireless networks and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth hardware. Inside there will be a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM and a 300mAh battery that is supposed to last up to two days. Pricing has yet to be revealed.
