HomeTube gives you a kid-friendly launcher/app for YouTube videos

From the mind of Chris Lacy, one of our favorite Aussie developers and the brains behind ActionLauncher, LinkBubble and others, comes HomeTube, a devilishly simple app that gives you a quick and easy way to babysit your kids with your Android devices.

HomeTube's sole purpose is to serve up kid-friendly YouTube videos in one place. It's technically a launcher, so you can fire it up, set it as the default on a secondary profile on a tablet and not worry too much about little Timmy getting into too much trouble. (Getting into the settings isn't all that difficult or hidden, though, so you'll want to keep a little supervision, probably.) Or you can just use it as a traditional app if you don't want to muck about with app defaults and what not.

Pony up a 99-cent in-app purchase and you can pick and choose from a bunch of categories — Curious George, Dora, cars, Peppa Pig, Spider-Man, to name a few. For parents of kids who live with their faces buried in YouTube, this is a no-brainer.
