iPad Air 2 will have 2GB of RAM

We're not only looking forward to the iPhone 6, but also the next generation iPad Air, it's getting interesting. New rumors indicate that the iPad Air will get more internal memory: from 1GB to 2GB. This will only happen with the iPad Air, not the cheaper iPad mini with retina display.

More Performance

Since the third generation iPad, Apple has chosen for 1GB and since then the amount of RAM remained the same. This has to do with the cost, but also with the battery and the required physical space.

Why Apple seems to go for more RAM, would have probably something to do with new features in iOS 8, where it is possible to make use of bigger programs. For example, it refers to a split-screen display, in which more memory is required than when using a single app.

Besides the iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 is there also an Apple watch waiting for us. The iWatch will have 512MB of RAM and 8GB of storage available for apps and other content.
